Caesars Entertainment has revealed that it has entered into a sponsorship deal with Major League Soccer (MLS) franchise DC United in terms of which the operator’s Caesars Sports logo will be displayed on the sleeve of DC United shirts for home as well as away matches.

The operator will become the first casino company to have its logo featured on a jersey of a Major League Soccer team.

The 2020 MLS regular season kicks off at the end of this month and the new deal will also see Caesars gaining a presence at the DC United home stadium, Audi Field, through LED signage, suite use as well as promotional events on match day.

Chris Holdren, Chief Marketing Officer at Caesar’s Entertainment, commented that Caesar’s Entertainment has been a world-wide leader in entertainment for many years, but now, including this new landmark partnership with DC United, they have quickly become a leader in the world of sports.  He added that they are excited to share their sports, hospitality and entertainment expertise with DC United fans and Audi Field guests.

Jason Levien, DC United co-chairman, said that partnering with Caesars provides them with a great opportunity to realize the dream of Audi Field being a year-round hub of entertainment and activity and is another strong indication that global brands continue to see value in partnering with their organization.

The D.C. Lottery is aiming to launch a sports betting app next month and Caesars will be looking into betting opportunities that could result in a sportsbook being launched at Audi Field.
