The biggest poker network in the world, Microgaming Poker Network (MPN) has announced that, after using feedback from their customers since the initial launch of their version of Spin & Gos called Fish Party, earlier this year, they have updated the product by cutting the effective rake on the product.
A new, more bottom heavy, maths model of the product has been applied by the MPN team that sees players hitting the lowest (2x) multiplier less often, but hitting a 4x or 6x multiplier more often. The 4x multiplier will replace the 3x multiplier of the current maths model.
The company feels that the recent chances will result in a much improved return on investment for skilled players who could now consistently win these tournaments.
Fish Party tournaments have a Jackpot component with the main Jackpot prize pool increasing with every game that is played, until the Jackpot is hit.
Until now, it was necessary for players to pay an additional 5.17% for the Jackpot prize pool and when adding that to the 5% rake, players were paying over 10% of their buy-in.
After weighing all the options, the network decided to lower the progressive Jackpot rake from 5.17% to a mere 0.85%
MPN believes that the average jackpot size will decrease as the progressive jackpot will take longer to increase, but the games will be more profitable for the players that do not hit the Jackpot.
MPN has also revealed that it will be adding Fish Party to their mobile and desktop browser platforms early next year.
