Sportitalia, one of the leading television outlets in Italy, and Sportradar, a multinational corporation that provides sports data intelligence to bookmakers, national and international sports federations and media companies, have entered into an extended partnership in terms of which the broadcaster will benefit from an enriched content offering across four new channels from July of this year.

The two companies first partnered in 2017, with Sportradar providing the streaming platform for Sportitalia’s round the clock online site while also making selected content available on demand.  The original agreement now includes a more customized content offering across all four channels in total HD quality that is available on both www.sportalia.com as well as on Smart TVs via HBBtv technology.

Users will have a chance to gain access to the new channels for free, without a subscription or set-top box, via the red button on their remote control.

Michelle Criscitiello, CEO at Sportitalia, commented that they have enjoyed significant success during the first two years of their relationship with Sportradar and, given their expertise in the OTT and audiovisual fields, they are convinced that will continue following the expansion of their partnership.

Criscitiello also said that their mission is to give sports fans in Italy exactly the content they want, when they want, and Sportradar’s flexible, customizable solution ensures they can continue to deliver that.

Sportradar’s Managing Director, OTT, Digital Services and Advertising Solutions, Rainer Geier, said that having been in the OTT space for 15 years and counting, they know how crucial it is to constantly innovate and enhance their products and services.
