Isle of Man-based software development company Microgaming, has revealed that it has made donations totaling an amount of £30,000 to four charities, as part of its 2018 Gift of Giving Campaign that sees the company providing leading customers and contracts the chance to vote for one of a number of charities in their area.

The amount of £30,000, which is in lieu of Christmas gifts, is divided equally between four global regions, namely the Isle of Man, Europe and the United Kingdom, Africa and the Rest of the World. Last year marked the sixth time that the initiative took place.

The charities that received the highest number of votes in each region in the 2018 campaign were Heroes on the Water in the Isle of Man, Teenage Cancer Trust for the UK and Europe, Save the Rhino International for the region of Africa and Medecins Sans Frontieres in the rest of the world category.

Ken Moughtin, Senior CSR Manager at Microgaming, commented that over the festive season they asked their customers and contacts who they would like them to provide a charitable donation to, and she is happy to announce that they voted for Heroes on the Water Isle of Man, Teenage Cancer Trust, Save the Rhino International and Medecins Sans Frontieres, with each charity receiving £7,500.

Miriam Goodall, regional Fundraising Manager for Teenage Cancer Trust, which helps young people and their families deal with the many ways cancer can affect an individual’s body, mind and life, said that this was fantastic news to start the year.
