Sports technology firm Genius Sports, has revealed that it has entered into an Integrity Agreement with the Football Association of Indonesia in terms of which it will safeguard the latter’s competitions from manipulation.

The partnership signed between the parties will see Genius Sports and the association, also known as Persatuan Sepakbola Seluruh Indonesia (PSSI), work together in order to combat match-fixing in football.

The provider will supply a vast range of integrity services, which includes its’ monitoring technology and educational workshops.

Bet Paterson, the Integrity Operations Director at Genius Sports, delivered the provider’s first educational workshop last week, in an endeavor to inform players, officials and coaches about the rules, regulations and consequences of match-fixing.

Paterson commented on the partnership by saying that proactively combating the threats of match-fixing and competition manipulation demands that all sports constantly look to update and improve their existing measures and systems.

Paterson went on to say that the PSSI is demonstrating a commendable commitment to their integrity and they eagerly look forward to using their years of expertise in order to safeguard their competitions.

The new agreement expands on the extended relationship struck last month between Genius Sports and PSSI in which Genius Sports partnered to drive the league’s digital transformation for football fans.

Marsal Irwan Masita, Deputy General Secretary of the PSSI, commented that protecting the integrity of competitions is vitally important to the success and national development of the PSSI. He added that they recognized Genius Sport’s true expertise in this field and look forward to working together with them to ensure their games remain transparent, honest and protected.
