Germany’s gambling regulator Gluecksspiel (GGL) recently initiated a public information campaign on player protection measures set out under the GlüNeuRStv regime. The campaign was part of the nationwide day of action against gambling addiction which took place on September 27, 2023.
GGL Releases Information Brochure on Player Protection
As part of the campaign, all of the country’s 16 federal states conducted various activities and events to promote public awareness of online gambling safeguards. The GGL also released an information brochure clearly outlining all player protection measures of GlüNeuRStv 2021.
Among the key measures detailed in the information material include a maximum deposit limit of €1,000 per month, a panic button that enables a short-term ban of 24 hours, as well as certain restrictions on online slots. Additionally, operators are not allowed to offer different forms of gambling and advertise or promote multiple gambling products on one website.
Germans Reminded to Play Only at Licensed Sites
Ronald Benter, GGL board member, said information campaigns play a vital role in keeping players informed about consumer safeguards and helping them identify whether they’re dealing with a legal online gambling provider.
German players may also refer to the official whitelist of licensed operators and legal gambling offers which can be found on the GGL homepage. They can always visit the regulator’s website for comprehensive information on online gambling safeguards.
