When Lionel Messi made it clear that he would no longer look to resign with current club Paris St-Germain (PSG), there were rumours that Messi would make a move to Saudi Arabia and reignite his rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi Reported To Sign £522 Million Contract With Al-Hilal

Messi is widely regarded as the best player in the world right now and there are few clubs in the world that can dish out the kind of money that Saudi Arabian clubs can. There are reports in the Daily Mail that Messi has signed an agreement with Al-Hilal for £522 million.

There is no confirmation of the reported signing from either Messi or his management as of this writing. The rumoured signing with Al-Hilal does not come as a major surprise because Messi was suspended by PSG earlier this month for two weeks, after he decided to visit Saudi Arabia without approval from PSG.

Messi serves as a tourism ambassador for Saudi Arabia and is alleged to have flow to Saudi Arabia to fulfil his duties as a tourism ambassador. We will have to wait for a few more days to know if Messi is heading to Saudi Arabia or will stay and play football in Europe.
