The International Cricket Council (ICC)has revealed that it has entered into a new partnership with Sportradar that will see it enhance its global fan base.
In terms of the deal, the leading global provider of integrity services has become an Official Data Distribution and Official Betting Live Streaming Partner of the ICC.
The ICC will utilize the provider’s data expertise for 275 top-tier matches that cover eight of the greatest tournaments.
The deal commences with the Men’s T20 World Cup in India this month and is scheduled to last until the Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023.
Finn Bradshsaw, the ICC’s Head of Digital, commented on the organization’s partnership by saying that the innovative use of sports data is one of the key pillars of their digital strategy.
Bradshaw went on to say that this partnership with Sportradar will help them grow their global cricket fan-base and deepen their engagement with it.
Backed by InteractSport, a subsidiary of Sportradar, it will use its Cricket Live Score Plus (CL5+) data-capture tool, allowing fielding positions and actions to be plotted for the first time.
Sportradar will also integrate the official ICC data into its Premium Cricket Service, boosting its offering to sportsbook operators while its Integrity Services will provide the ICC with bet monitoring and reporting for all 275 matches via its Universal Fraud Detection System.
David Lampitt, Managing Director of Sports Content and Partnerships at Sportradar, said that Cricket is among the most popular sports globally, and they see huge potential to grow its fan base still further, helping fans interact with the game on an even deeper level.
