Scientific Games, considered a world leader in entertainment offering games and services for casinos, lottery, online gambling and social gambling, has announced the appointment of a new Group CFO.  Connie James will replace Mike Eklund who is leaving after just one year in the position.  James will also take over as executive vice president, treasurer and corporate secretary from when Ekland leaves next month. 

Connie James has served as CFO for Scientific Games’ gaming business since last year and also held a similar position at the gambling company, Aristocrat Leisure. 

President and chief executive of Scientific Games, Barry Cottle said: “Since joining Scientific Games, Connie has helped lead the Gaming business through the unprecedented disruptions caused by Covid-19 and played a critical role in our strategic review and developing our vision to become the leading cross-platform global game company.”

“As we advance our strategy to become a content-led growth company, we are confident that Connie is the right executive to take the reins to help us achieve our vision and drive long-term shareholder value.”

Eklund also commented, saying that he was proud of his team and what the company has accomplished. With the progress that Scientific Games has made, and the company’s transformation taking hold, Eklund said that he just knew that the group’s finance team was in capable hands with Connie James at the helm, and that Scientific was set for an exciting future.
