The Isle of Man-based software group, Microgaming, continues to sponsor local events on the island as a way of demonstrating corporate responsibility and giving back to its host region.
Next month, Microgaming will sponsor the annual Triathlon Festival weekend on May 7th and 8th.
The pool-based event is considered an excellent introduction to Triathlon for first time triathletes.
This year, Microgaming will introduce a shorter swim category of just 400 m, which is highly recommended for novice triathletes.
Microgaming’s Play it Forward Initiative
The Triathlon weekend falls under Microgaming’s PlayItForward initiative, a staff-led CSR program which gives back to the community.
According to Microgaming, PlayItForward “powers positive change for people, place and planet”.
The initiative was launched in 2014 and has invested over $2 million in CSR ventures since its inception.
Last year alone, Microgaming donated to 45 worthy causes through the scheme and 100 staff members logged in over 585 volunteer hours to help these causes.
Some of the causes which benefitted from Microgaming’s donations last year include:
- Ambassador Program which sponsors individuals of outstanding ability or knowledge.
- Responsible Gaming
- Education bursaries
- Ride Across Britain sponsorship
- Gift of Giving program – donations in lieu of Christmas gifts
- Supporting sport clubs, events and associations
- Sponsoring community events
