Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment and FanDuel are pleased to announce that they have entered into a market access partnership that will see the sportsbook operator bring retail and online sports betting to the Mogegan Sun.

The new partnership occurred less than a week after the Mohegan Sun revealed that it would abandon its sports betting partnership with Kambi Inc.

According to a press release, a temporary retail sportsbook will be situated inside the Mohegan Sun featuring four live betting windows and 16 self-service betting terminals.

FanDuel is endeavoring to open the permanent sportsbook location this winter, subject to regulatory approvals.

Ray Pineault, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment commented in a release that they are excited to work with FanDuel, one of the leading sports-tech entertainment companies in the U.S. to bring the brand’s innovative sports betting and iGaming solutions to Mohegan Sun & Entertainment.

Pineault went on to say that their partnership is a priority for Mohegan Digital, as they look to grow and enhance their casino, sportsbook and online operations in Connecticut – and beyond. He added that they are confident that FanDuel will deliver a best-in-class digital and in-person experience for their loyal guests.

Amy Howe, President of FanDuel Group, said that Mohegan Sun is an iconic casino and entertainment destination in the Northeast and they are excited to announce their first tribal gaming partnership with one of the leading tribal operators in the United States.

Howe also said that they have some incredible plans for the retail space of Mohegan Sun, with the potential to be the largest FanDuel Sportsbook in the United States.
