Leading online gaming operator 888 Holdings has entered into a new sportsbook content partnership with Genius Sports Group’s data supplier Betgenius in terms of which it will launch pre-match and in-play content for 888sport betting brand in numerous markets.

The agreement will see 888 gaining access to data and pricing services across a range of sports, including tennis, soccer, volleyball and basketball.  The content will include data from over 300 sports competitions and utilized by 888sport in all of its active territories.

Betgenius will also provide its automated same-game accumulator product BetBuilder into 888sports offering.

Guy Cohen, Senior Vice President and Head of B2C at 888, said that they are delighted to partner with Betgenius and believe its flexible technology solution will enhance 888sport through high-quality and wide-ranging in-play and pre-match data content.  He addede a that they look forward to developing their relationship in the coming months.

In March, 888 purchased Irish-based sports betting company BetBright for an amount of £15m ($19.8m) in a deal which Itai Pazner, Chief Executive Officer of 888, described as an ‘exciting milestone’ for the company.  The deal saw 888 take control of BetBright’s technology and product development.

Betgenius has been embroiled in a legal battle in the UK since last year over sports data rights.  This was due to the company finalizing a major betting data partnership with Football DataCo in terms of which it became the exclusive data supplier for the English Premier League, the English Football League and the Scottish Professional Football League at the commencement of the 2019/20 soccer season.

However, Sportradar argued that the exclusive agreement breaches UK and EU competition Law and decided to take legal action against the two companies.
