Matchroom Boxing has revealed that 32Red.com has signed deals in terms of which it will sponsor Ricky Burns’ world title fight night in Glasgow as well as the first WBC Cruiserweight title defense for Tony Bellew that is due to be held in Liverpool.
The two fights are scheduled to take place during the next fortnight and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. The sponsorship deal between the parties will give 32Red visibility as the matches will be seen by millions.
Ricky Burns will be putting his WBA Super-Lightweight belt on the line on Friday, 7th October 2016 against the Ricky Hatton trained mandatory challenger, Kiryl Relikh while Tony Bellew will be fighting BJ Flores on Saturday, 15th October 2016.
Matt Booth, the Chief Commercial Officer at 32Red, commented on the deals by saying that they are extremely delighted to be partnering with Matchroom Boxing and to be sponsoring the next two World Title fights in Glasgow featuring Ricky Burns and Liverpool featuring Tony Bellew. He went on to say that British Boxing is at an all-time high and that to associate the 32Red brand with these great nights is very exciting for them.
Both Burns and Bellew won the belts that they are defending this month in one weekend in May, where Burns became a three-weight World champion by dominating Michele Di Rocci in an eighth-round stoppage win for the vacant WBA Super-Lightweight crown, prior to Bellew climbing off the canvas in the first round to Ko Ilunga Makubu in the third to become WBC Cruiserweight king.
