The UK National Lottery is urging EuroMillions lottery players to check whether they are the lucky winners of a massive New Year’s Day draw. The £115 million jackpot is the fourth highest payout to a UK player in EuroMillions history.
Camelot, operator of the National Lottery, is now waiting with bated breath to see when the player will step forward to claim his or her prize. The player has the option to go public with the win or to remain anonymous. The winner is a single ticket holder.
“What a start to 2019 for UK EuroMillions players,” said the senior winners’ adviser for the National Lottery, Andy Carter. “All players are urged to check their tickets to see if they are a big winner and can turn 2019 into one long celebration.”
Players who haven’t yet checked their cards for the New Year’s Day draw should note that the winning numbers were 1, 8, 11, 25, 28 and the winning EuroMillions Lucky Star numbers 4 and 6.
In addition to the massive win for one lucky EuroMillions player, another 10 players pocketed £1 million each in the New Year’s Day draw.
It was only several weeks ago that a man from Lincolnshire decided to check through a pile of unchecked lottery tickets in his van, and was stunned to see that he had won £76 million in a EuroMillions draw.
