Atlantic City Blackjack
Atlantic City Blackjack is a recently popular variation of the classic blackjack game. Much like its classic version, the player is tasked to beat the dealer's hand by getting closer to 21 without going bust.
Atlantic City Blackjack Rules
The Atlantic City Blackjack game is played using eight standard decks of cards which are shuffled after each game. In order to play the game, the player must first place his bet. The dealer will then proceed to dealing a couple of cards to the player face up. The dealer will then deal a couple of cards to himself with one card facing up, and another card concealed. The player will then act depending on his strategy – hitting, standing, doubling down, splitting, surrendering, or taking insurance. The dealer then makes a move after the player by either hitting or standing. Also, the player must remember the special rules in the game. If the dealer's had reaches an amount more than 21, the player automatically wins. Also, if the player gets a blackjack, meaning he gets an ace and a card with a value of 10, he automatically wins. The player loses if he goes bust however.
Atlantic City Blackjack Special rules
If the both the player and the dealer have the same hand, this is called a "push" and the player will take the amount he bet during the beginning of the game. This holds true even if both of them gets a blackjack. If the player gets a couple of cards with the same value, then he will be able to take on a split. During this time, he can make a second bet and he can play two hands. The player is allowed to make a split three times per game, except for aces, which can only be split once. The player can only bet the same amount as his initial bet.
Atlantic City Blackjack Doubling Down
One of the features in the game that makes blackjack exciting is doubling down. With this option, the player will be given the chance to double the amount of his initial bet if he feels that he has a good chance of winning. Remember though that if you lose once you've doubled down, you'll lose twice the amount of your initial bet as well.
Atlantic City Blackjack Insurance
Another thing that makes things interesting is the insurance. If the dealer gets an ace face up, the player will have the option to take insurance. The insurance is taken just in case the dealer gets a blackjack. The insurance costs half of the initial bet, but when the dealer gets a blackjack, the player loses the insurance bet and plays his hand regularly. This is a nifty feature that lessens the amount you are to lose if ever the dealer makes a blackjack.
